Cutaneous Lesions

Faint malar rash on a 17-year old boy who recently was diagnosed with discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE).
Raynaud’s phenomenon sometimes appear in patients with lupus erythematosus, although it is more commonly seen in patients with scleroderma. It is characterized by vasospastic episodes in the blood vessels in the digits. The digits typically change color from white to blue to red.
The typical DLE diagnosis includes well demarcated cutaneous lesions with round or oval erythematous plaques with scales and follicular plugging.
