Lymphoma

The dentist recognized an apical radiolucency at the second premolar. During the endodontic procedure it was determined that both canals contained vital pulp tissue. The patient was referred for a biopsy, which revealed a B-cell lymphoma.
This patient presented with a chief complaint of a palatal swelling. A tooth in the area of the swelling had previously been endodonticaly treated. The swelling did not subside after retreatment and antibiotic therapy.The patient was referred to a specialist who repeated the same procedures. After several months it was discovered that the patient had an undiagnosed T-cell lymphoma, which eventually caused the patient’s demise.
